Here’s an excerpt from Graham’s old online dating profile:

What do I like? Skiing is good, softball, and hockey. The opera, I like a lot. Movies, the pop art of our era, absolutely anytime, even crappy ones. Horses, I’ll saddle up. You want to kayak to Peru – talk me into it. I’ve always wanted to rock climb, but never got around to it. This little planet seems huge, I’ve seen but a smidgeon.

AFTER

Graham’s profile went on and on. It was long, convoluted and quite dull. By saying things like “talk me into it” or “never got around to it”, he also sounded like someone who was too set in his ways.

Once he submitted his free personality quiz, I was so surprised at how interesting he was. I picked a few points from some of his answers and probed further. I found out that he was actually a well-traveled man and talented musician with great sense of humor.

Here’s an excerpt of Graham’s new online dating profile:

When I was a boy, I picked up the trumpet and played Louis Armstrong’s “Wonderful World”. It made my Mom cry. I was that bad. Today I play trumpet for a living. I’ve come a long way. On that note, I also like to travel a long way, preferably on a saddle.

His new profile went on to talk about some of his favorite vacations, including his love for horseback riding trips. It also touched on so many fun and interesting aspects of his character. It was a much truer representation of his charm and intelligence than what he had written initially.
